Postwright

Comment inbox

The Inbox page (Pro) collects the comments and replies under your own published posts, on every platform whose API allows it, and lets you answer them. A reply is never posted straight away: it waits in Approvals until you approve it.

Read-only where the platform says so. LinkedIn shows a comment count only, X is read-only and opt-in, and Pinterest isn’t covered. Postwright never replies through a browser.

How it works

  • Collecting. About every 30 minutes Postwright reads the newest posts on each connected platform (published in the last 30 days) through that platform’s API. Check now on the Inbox page runs a read at once.
  • The Inbox page. Comments are listed by post, with unread first, a platform badge on each, a link to open the comment on its platform, and Mark read. Filter by All, Unread, or Not replied, and by platform. A panel lists what your saved sign-ins allow on each platform, and the last read error.
  • Replying. Click Reply, write it, and queue it. It then sits in Approvals under Comment replies, beside the comment it answers. Approve & post sends it once, as your account; Cancel drops it. Nothing writes or sends a reply on its own.
  • At most once. If a platform’s answer is lost after a reply went out, Postwright looks for it, and if it can’t find it marks the reply “may be live” and never sends it again. You check the platform and say which it was.
  • Approvals are on the dashboard only. Not by Telegram, and not by an agent: the MCP server can’t read the Inbox, queue a reply, or approve one.

What each platform allows

PlatformReadReplyNotes
BlueskyYesYesReplies are posted with your saved app password.
MastodonYesYesThe access token needs read and write access to statuses.
ThreadsYesYesThe token needs the permissions to read and manage replies.
Facebook PageYesYesReplies go out as the Page. Facebook nests one level, so a reply to a reply goes under the top comment.
InstagramYesYesMeta’s rules for API comments apply (at most 300 characters, 4 hashtags, 1 link).
YouTubeYesYesIf you signed in to YouTube before the Inbox existed, sign in again in Connections to grant comment access. Reads and replies use your YouTube API quota.
XOpt-inNoRead-only. X lets an app reply only where the account was mentioned or quoted, so Postwright doesn’t risk it. Reading is off until you turn it on, because X bills each reply it reads ($0.005); the card shows the month’s estimate.
LinkedInCount onlyNoRead-only. The Inbox shows each post’s comment count from the daily metrics check, with a link to read and reply on LinkedIn.
PinterestNoNoIts API has no comments endpoint.
DEV, Telegram, Discord, SlackNoNoNot covered by the Inbox.
