Client reviews
Client reviews (Team) hold a post until a client approves it. The client, or a colleague who doesn’t run Postwright, approves the exact version you sent, and you keep the record as proof. Each person on a Team license still runs their own install: this is a way to get a client’s sign-off, not a shared workspace.
Team only. A Pro license that opens this feature sees that it’s a Team feature and the upgrade, never a broken page. Review links also need a public address for your Mac, and the Mac has to be awake and the tunnel running when the client clicks.
How a review works
- Keep reviewers per brand. Under Settings, then Brand, add each brand’s client reviewers (up to 25). Postwright never emails a reviewer: you pass each one their link yourself.
- Send for client review. On the Content page, choose Send for client review on a blog post, newsletter, or social post. Pick the reviewers, how many approvals you need, and when links expire (3 to 30 days, 7 by default).
- The post is held. So are the companions drafted from it. Nothing in the bundle goes out until the client approves. The hold is checked at the moment of publishing, so rescheduling or a cadence reflow can’t slip past it, and publishing anyway asks first.
- The client answers. Each reviewer opens their own link in any browser, with no account. They see the post as you sent it, and can approve, request changes, or comment. The page runs no script and opening it changes nothing, so a mail scanner or chat preview can’t approve anything. Without a public address, you record the client’s answer yourself, with who and how.
- The hold lifts. An approval only lifts the hold. It never publishes, never picks a time, and never sends a newsletter, which still needs your own approval.
Edits and the record
- If you edit a post after sending it, Postwright notices and the review shows it. Send the update as the next revision; answers on earlier revisions no longer count. An edit after approval holds the post again until the update is approved.
- You can revoke or reissue a link at any time, or end every link at once. Archiving a reviewer revokes every link they hold.
- Every review keeps an audit log of what was sent, each answer and who gave it, edits, releases, and overrides. Download it as CSV as proof of approval.
- Videos and shorts have their own review, so they can’t be sent for a client review. A post you publish by hand, such as a Substack Note, is never held.
Links need a locked-down public address
Review links are served from the same public address as Instagram Reels, through the same tunnel. Before it lets you send a link, Postwright checks that the tunnel forwards the review pages and nothing else. Setup is on Public media URL.
